This 1963’s Malaysia Day historic Cup, brought to my attention
when l delivered my first speech as SK
Kolapis’s new Head Master. That 1st. day speech was more on
the patriotism issue as it was our 48th. Independence Month celebration. My nostalgic moment crawled backwards to the moment of our
independence parade in Beluran in 1963. I , was
then, a Primary One pupil of Government Primary School Beluran when we were given this same cup 45 years ago by our Head
Master, now , Datuk Hj Sh Kassim Sh Jaffar. It came to my remembrance that several
primary head masters around Beluran had gathered in GPS Beluran to receive the MD Cups from the District officer.
This old cup, has recalled
the very moment when Sabah joined Malaysia in 1963. It was 45 years now when SK Kolapis took them out from its store the very first
time in 2005 by Encik Abdul
Manaf Hj Bakar, a senior teacher. We can
have a look of it at the State Museum
but we still have them here now. For that, SK Kolapis would like to dedicate these cups to the PPD office as our main
reference , SK Pekan Beluran as a place of
delivery some 45 years ago and SMK Beluran II as a place where our pupils are heading for further studies.
